The details

The line Orwell wrote for a preface his publisher declined to print. The whole sentence across the chest in six stacked lines of heavy condensed capitals, each line sized to the full width so the block reads as one solid slab: IF LIBERTY MEANS ANYTHING AT ALL, IT MEANS THE RIGHT TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT THEY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR. Two colours, no illustration, no ornament. George Orwell wrote it for the introduction to Animal Farm in 1945. The introduction was left out. It surfaced decades later and has been quoted ever since by people on every side of every argument - which is rather the point of it. Why you'll reach for this tee: Heavyweight, garment-dyed comfort - 6.1 oz/yd2 of 100% ring-spun cotton Broken-in softness and a lived-in look from the very first wear Relaxed unisex fit, true to size Double-needle collar and twill-taped shoulders, built to last Bold FRONT print - the full quote reads clearly at conversational distance Perfect for: Readers, writers, editors and librarians Journalists and anyone who works in or around a newsroom Teachers, debate coaches and law students Orwell readers and dystopian-fiction shelves Banned Books Week, graduations and stubborn birthdays Anyone who would rather be disagreed with than managed Say the unpopular thing.
